Ex-Gov Bhandari passes away

PANJIM: Former Goa Governor and ex-foreign secretary Romesh Bhandari passed away after a prolonged illness last night. Bhandari, 85, served as Governor of Goa from June 16, 1995 to July 19, 1996.

PANJIM: Former Goa Governor and ex-foreign secretary Romesh Bhandari passed away after a prolonged illness last night. Bhandari, 85, served as Governor of Goa from June 16, 1995 to July 19, 1996. 
Besides reaching the highest post of foreign secretary, in the Foreign Service, Bhandari made noteworthy contribution in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a non-violent world, and the guidelines of India’s foreign policy.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, condoled the death of the former Goa governor.
In his message Parrikar said: “In the passing away of Bhandari, India has lost a true son and servant of the nation. Bhandari served the nation with distinction in many capacities throughout his life. May God grant eternal peace to the departed soul.”
