SANGUEM: Traffic to and from Costi-Kalay to Sanguem was blocked on Tuesday evening for nearly an hour as a tree crashed across the road near Xavier Marquis Farm, due to the sudden gusty wind.
The crashing tree also damaged the main electricity cables supplying power to Costi besides also damaging a couple of electricity poles.
Amar Naik, a local said there are many such trees by this roadside which are leaning towards the road and threaten to crash in future.
“Fortunately, today the tree did not land on the road to damage it, but was suspended on the electricity cables it damaged,” he pointed out.
The road was finally cleared by Fire Services personnel
