A roadshow by actor-turned-politician Vijay took a chaotic turn on Wednesday after several fans were injured in a series of accidents along the Trichy–Thanjavur highway.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader was travelling from Trichy to Chengipatti in Thanjavur to attend a party meeting when large numbers of enthusiastic supporters began following his convoy on two-wheelers. The situation soon turned disorderly, leading to multiple mishaps along the highway stretch.

Eyewitnesses said many fans, eager to catch a glimpse of the actor-politician, rode recklessly without helmets and violated traffic rules, resulting in several crashes. Ambulances were seen frequently transporting the injured to nearby hospitals.
Videos of the incident have since surfaced on social media, showing the chaotic scenes during the roadshow. Authorities are expected to review safety arrangements for such large public gatherings to prevent similar incidents in the future.
