NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar has assured that Goans residing in the Middle East are safe and there is no cause for panic amid the ongoing tensions in the region.
He stated that flight services have resumed and that evacuation measures would be undertaken if and when the Government of India decides to do so. According to him, Goans living in the affected areas have been in touch with their families back home and have conveyed that the situation is under control.
Sawaikar urged families not to panic, adding that authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will take necessary steps if required.
