MARGAO: Goa Forward Party President and former agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday said that the new Central government’s farmers’ bills, is a move to give the fields of country to the corporates.
Vijai said that the decision of the government is to give the farm and agriculture lands of the country to the corporate lobbies.
“The BJP governments at the Centre and State are going to go around justifying their act of corporatising, giving it to the Reliance and Adani. The ‘kisan’ in the ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan Slogan,” alleged Vijai.
He said that the BJP has no focus on agriculture or farming but focussed in conversion.
“The Minister of Agriculture continuously converting the farming land. The BJP is interested in conversion, not farming. Convert the farmers’ land and give their assets to the corporates. I had done 36 cases in the one and a half year of the 16B. 50 more will be done today. He has converted at least 1,000 cases in a year,” Vijai alleged.
“Selling out all that is left in this year 2020 and showing prohibitory orders during the COVID-19 pandemic is the plan. They have brought in non-Goan police officials and are pushing their agenda through them,” he said.
