VALPOI: A 69-year-old man from Colva died, while his son was injured, when the vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a valley at Chorla Ghat on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred when the driver of the Tata Safari (GA-08-E-4061) lost control of the vehicle on a slope and rammed into a tree before toppling into a valley at Chorla Ghat, about 80 metres deep. Fransisco Xavier Almeida died on the spot, while the driver, who is reportedly his son, sustained injuries and was admitted at GMC.
The son-father duo were returning from Belgaum. The father was rushed to PHC Sanquelim, but doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival.
