MARGAO: Former Deputy Chief Minister and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai on Saturday threatened to take the government to court for not honouring the promises made to Goans including assurances given on the floor of the House which he termed “temple of democracy”.
Speaking to media persons he lamented that the government headed by Dr Pramod Sawant is not even honouring promises and assurances given on the floor of the House and gave the example of the changing government stand on Western Bypass.
“While the previous government had assured on the floor of the House that a road on stilts will be constructed as a part of the Western bypass, the present government has totally ruled out the possibility of having this,” he said.
Vijai said it was indeed quite shocking that the government was not even willing to stick to the promises it made on the floor of the House and threatened to take it to court so that the people of Goa get justice.
“I am considering moving the High Court against the present government,” he said.
