PANJIM: The fear of Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) impact on Goa and Goan politics was clearly visible in Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant’s Independence Day address as he announced a free water scheme for Goans, stated State Convenor Rahul Mhambre, on Monday.
“Goans want to know what took the BJP so long. It looks like the Kejriwal model has not only arrived but is here to stay in the State. BJP, who refused to give anything free to its citizens have now started to fall in line purely out of the fear and the heat of AAP’s presence in the State,” Mhambre said.
“This very clearly shows that AAP is the only party that can fight the BJP. The AAP has extracted a promise of services for the Goans from the BJP without a single MLA, something the Congress has failed to do over 10 years. Goans across the State however are very well aware that this is nothing but an empty promise by the Sawant sarkar which ignored their needs for the last 4 years”, Mhambre added.
He further claimed that AAP growing from strength to strength in Goa. “Goans are aware that the Kejriwal sarkar provides its citizens with free healthcare, power and water which has led to them raising the question that if Kejriwal can do this why not Sawant and the BJP,” said Mhambre.
“I am glad that Sawant woke from his slumber & finally admits that only the Kejriwal Model can save Goans,” stated Mhambre.
“Goenkars know that it is only after AAP started raising their issues that today the BJP and its CM have made an announcement on free water. Their arrogance during the electricity debate has disappeared as they have realised that AAP is the only party that Goenkars look to for change,” said Vice-president Surel Tilve.
