PANJIM: Goa Alliance Against CAA-NRC-NPR (GACNN) has called upon the people of all faiths not to fall into the trap of deflection of the core issues confronting the people in Goa and other parts of the country in the context of the “lethal combination” of CAA-NRC-NPR.
In a press statement issued on Monday, the forum’s co-ordinating team said they reiterate that CAA-NRC-NPR has the potential to threaten the lives and livelihoods of common people across faiths and beliefs, and maintains that this threat has to be unitedly fought without being divisive and intolerant.
“The resistance against CAA-NPR-NRC is a resistance by people of all religious communities and beliefs against divisiveness and discrimination. Considering sentiments and beliefs of people in a diverse society like ours, the GACNN urges all concerned to refrain from airing any observations, views and opinions which can arouse or hurt religious sentiments or impede scientific temper,” reads the statement.
The GACNN has demanded that State and law enforcement agencies remain impartial in dealing with complaints of instigation and incitement.
