PANJIM: Young director Benhur Silva and his team at Ethereal Productions are all set to release the newest and final season of Goa’s popular Konkani web series “The Malkiryads” on September 16, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
The Malkiryads is a Konkani web series that revolves around four friends – Nond, DJ, Caitu, and Paklo – and their journey through college and how their life takes a drastic turn when they decide to start a business together.
Season 1 and season 2 of The Malkiryads are available to watch on YouTube, on the Ethereal Productions channel. However, the final season won’t be available on YouTube.
“We have come a long way. We started off with a dream to make Goa’s very own web series and released it on Youtube. The response was so overwhelming. From YouTube to a big screen release, I never expected we would get so much love,” says Benhur.
When asked about why this season of the series won’t be released on YouTube, Benhur replied, “This season will be most enjoyed with everyone watching it together and sharing the same emotions. It’s a complete package with something for every kind of viewer- surprises, romance, comedy, and suspense.”
Benhur Silva has directed the series while the season is written and edited by Christ Silva, both the sons of the superstar of Konkani Cinema, John D’Silva.
“Every other language like Hindi, Marathi, Tamil have web series in their own vernacular languages. It is a matter of pride that our very own Konkani web series has completed three seasons,” says John D’Silva.
The series features Aditya Naik, Dattej Naik, Ujwala Pednekar, Mayura Faldessai, Ravi Kumbar, Benhur Silva, and John D’silva in pivotal roles, with cinematography by Jay Parwar.
