PANJIM: Referring to the FIR in Mapusa against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for some alleged utterances that the Election Commission of India(ECI) termed as violation of the election code, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa leader Elvis Gomes said it was a ploy to disturb the fast pace of the their government’s work in New Delhi.
Dishing out figures Gomes said that in the last three years, 319 colonies in Delhi were provided with water supply as against 65 during 15 years of Congress government. Similarly, during the same period, 112 colonies got sewer and drainage lines, as against 32 in 15 years of Congress rule. He also cited zero percent rise in electricity tariff in the last three years as against 400 percent rise in the previous 15 years.
Gomes said that Delhi residents were provided electricity at half the prevailing tariff and water was given free and yet the water supply board was in profit.
He said the Delhi High Court was seized with the matter and the ECI had furnished wrong information to the Court in the hearing held on November 13, 2017, when information under RTI revealed no such FIR even as on February 2 this year.
