PANJIM: To prevent and suppress unwanted fires during the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and to render prompt and efficient services, Director of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Nitin Raikar along with fire officials carried out the fire prevention inspection at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherji Indoor Stadium, Taleigao and other venues of the film festival on Saturday.
DFES Raikar and the fire personnel also inspected Inox Multiplexes, Panjim and at Porvorim, Maquinez Palace and old GMC precincts and deployed 70 fire personnel as stand-by fire prevention duty at the places of the festival.

Raikar was also accompanied by Anmol Ahluwalia, cluster general manager, North Goa; Souvik Bhattacharya, general manager, Taj Holiday Village; Savio D’Mello, security manager, Taj Fort Aguada; Rajendra Haldankar, Divisional Officer, Central and South Zone; Ajit Kamat, Assistant Divisional Officer and other officers and staff of DFES.
The 53rd IFFI will be held from November 20 to 28.
