A major tragedy was averted at the Government College in Pernem. After noticing fumes coming out from a cable panel, the security guard on duty informed the Pernem fire station. Pernem fire station team, headed by sub officer Prashant Dhargalkar immediately rushed to the spot and dealt with the fumes. If the fire personnel were late, the fumes would lead to a disaster.
