VASCO: The Dabolim Airport Traffic Police Cell registered five cases of drunk driving near the Dabolim international airport.
During the drive, the traffic police found five drivers operating their vehicles under the influence of alcohol, posing a serious risk to themselves and others.
The drive against drunken driving was conducted under the guidance of PI Rahul Damshekar. The police stopped the offenders and subjected them to breathalyser/alcohol tests, following which cases were filed against them.
The five drivers have been under the relevant Sections of Motor Vehicle Act.
PI Damshekar stated that drunk driving was endangering lives, and the traffic police will remain committed to ensuring the safety of commuters and pedestrians. Stern actions will continue against such violators, he warned.
PI Damshekar has appealed to the vehicle owners and drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol. He has also urged the public to report any instances of rash and reckless driving and help police to ensure safer roads for everybody.
