VASCO: Five naval staff attached to INS Hansa in Dabolim have been booked for allegedly assaulting a youth from Vaddem-Vasco on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Vasco police, the 25-year-old victim Atul Bicholkar’s mother in her complaint stated that around 2.15 pm behind SMRC Hospital, the accused persons – Rajnesh Pachar, Shamalal Takshak, Jitendra Singh, Amit Kumar Jaiswal and Anupam Sharma, all residents of INS Hansa, while travelling in a official four-wheeler, with their common intension formed an unlawful assembly and armed with deadly weapons dashed against Atul’s two-wheeler. The impact was such that Atul fell on the road. The accused in fit of anger assaulted the victim with metal pipes and fist blows. Atul sustained grievous injuries and admitted to GMC Bambolim. A case under sections 143, 147, 148, 338, 325, 326 read with section 149 of IPC has been registered against the accused naval officials and further investigation is in progress.
