Foreign currencies worth Rs 7.64 lakh seized

PANJIM: Goa Customs on Saturday apprehended an international passenger for illegally carrying foreign currencies at Dabolim International Airport.
Commissioner of Customs R Manohar has said that while performing the duties, the Air Customs officers of Goa Customs apprehended an international passenger who was travelling to Sharjah by Air Arabia flight and recovered assorted foreign currencies equivalent to Rs 7.64 lakh.
“The assorted foreign currencies were concealed inside wallet and hand baggage of the International passenger,” he said.
According to Manohar, since April 2018, the Air Customs of Goa has seized foreign currencies equivalent to Rs 75.14 lakh (approx) from International passengers at Dabolim International Airport
