PANJIM: The Goa Forest Department, after discussion with the Government of lndia, has designated the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) as the nodal agency responsible for all tourism-related activities within the demarcated forest areas. GFDC will manage activities including waterfall circuits, trails, and treks.
Dr Deviya Rane, Chairperson of Goa Forest Development Corporation, will chair a high-level meeting with Forest Department officials, and a detailed presentation will be given to the Director General of Forest and the Union Minister for Forest, outlining our plans for the future.
In a recent meeting chaired by the Forest Minister, it was stated that Goa Forest Development Corporation will be the sole authorised agency for operating in the forest areas, and an MoU will be signed by the Forest Department with Goa Forest Development Corporation to oversee and manage all activities in the forest regions.
