VASCO: Four persons were injured in a major accident involving a car, two-wheeler and a bicycle at Cortalim on Sunday.
The incident occurred near Shantadurga Temple along the Cortalim highway at around 6.30 pm when Shreyas Divkar, 27 from New Vaddem, Vasco drove his car in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Cortalim to Vasco and knocked down a two-wheeler injuring the rider Saurav Dixit, 35, and his mother Meera Dixit, 61.

The car then knocked down breadman Lav Kush Nayan, 31 moving around on his bicycle leaving him grievously injured.
The car finally hit an electricity pole, dashed against a tree and landed into a compound along the road in the opposite direction.
The injured including occupant of the car Tejas Govekar, 26, were rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim for treatment.
The car driver Shreyas Divkar, whose legs got stuck near the steering rack of the mangled car was removed by the fire personnel.
The Verna police also sent the car driver for medical examination to ascertain if he was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
