PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has asked students of Class X, who are not satisfied with the internal assessment marks, to forfeit their result and submit name for offline examination by July 17.
In a circular issued to the higher secondary schools, the Board has sought an undertaking from the students who want to forfeit their result and opt for offline examination which the Board will conduct whenever the conditions are conducive.
GBSHSE secretary Geraldina Mendes said any student who is not satisfied with the result may give his or her option to appear for Board’s exam as and when the condition is conducive to conduct the exam, before July 17, after forfeiting the current result.
A record number of 23,900 students of Class X were promoted to Class XI based on the internal evaluation done by the schools.
Board chairman Bhagirath Shetye said once the students forfeit this result and opt for Board exam, the result of the same would be considered as final.
“For example, if the student passed in the internal assessment marks but fails in Board exam, then the failed result will be taken on record,” he said.
Sources informed that the Board exams, based on the number of students who opt for, may be conducted in September.
