MARGAO: Former Navelim MLA who is now a Benaulim MLA, Churchill Alemao has taken potshots at Congress for targeting the Independent candidate of Navelim Zilla Parishad, Edwin ‘Cipru’ Cardozo and says that Congress is expected to fight against AAP and BJP but is fighting against an Independent in Navelim.
Alemao said that he is openly supporting Cardozo as the latter has helped him a lot in winning Navelim on Save Goa Party.
“The election campaign comes to an end and I have some Congress meetings recordings of speeches where the Congress instead of speaking against the AAP and BJP are against Cipru Cardozo,” said Churchill.
“Elect Cipru as he is Independent and not the B team of BJP,” said Churchill.
While taking a dig at Congress President Girish Chodankar Churchill said “Girish wanted to join BJP but he was rejected. Congress won’t rise until Girish is there. I want to tell Girish that Churchill is known to the people of Navelim. You are setting master” Churchill said.
