Foundation laid for underground cabling project at Curchorem

CURCHOREM: Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral laid the foundation stone for an underground cable system of 11KV Town-II Feeder at Morailem, Curchorem on Monday.

 He thanked Power Minister Milind Naik for sanctioning the project, which is estimated at Rs 3.25 lakh and stated that the long-pending demand of people from Kamral and Khamamoll had been fulfilled.
 “Around eight transformers, which are currently on the 11 KV line of the Panchwadi feeder, will be removed and brought under underground cabling, which will provide relief to the people,” said Cabral, adding that an underground cabling project for entire Curchorem, costing around Rs 36 crore, had been placed before Naik for approval. Cabral also informed that Naik had promised LED lighting in Curchorem, Panjim, Margao and Vasco in the first phase.
CCMC Chairperson Anita Naik, Vice Chairperson Pradip Naik, Councillor Patricia Fernandes, Executive Engineer Gajraj Singh, and Assistant Engineer JMR Swami were present for the event.
