Four held for ‘insulting’ Hinduism

PANJIM: Two artists and two musicians have been arrested for allegedly insulting Hindu religion during a show at the ongoing Serendipity Festival in the capital, on Wednesday.
The foursome Sumant Balakrishanan (34) and Anirban Ghosh (37), both from New Delhi and Shiva Pathak (40) and Nirmala Ravindran (45) from Bangalore were arrested based on a complaint filed by Venkata Krishna Kunduru, a Supreme Court lawyer. 
Panjim Police informed that the complainant alleged that the trope performing their show at the Serendipity Festival misused the platform to insult the Hindu religion by chanting “Om” with abusive languages like “Ullu Me Patte.” 
She also alleged that the accused displayed walks of life with the deliberate and malicious intention of hurting the religious feelings of Hindus. 
Police said that they would produce the arrested persons before the court on Thursday for remand.
