He informed that last year 262 went on Haj to Mecca and Madina from Goa and this time too after Narendra Sawaikar, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and others met the Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Nakhvi and retained Goa as embarkation point.
“2019 Haj pilgrimage was successful. On July 13, they had left from Dabolim and returned on 28. One woman from Vasco expired and insurance from All India Haj Committee which she is entitled for will be given,” Jina said.
Speaking on the long pending work of Haj House, Jina said that the file of the work has reached the table of the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. “There are issues of Cortalim Comunidade land and we have requested all the MLAs of Mormugao Taluka to help us get the land for the betterment of hajis,” Jina said.
