Gaondongrim Sarpanch resigns

Gaondongrim Sarpanch Rajendra Velip has resigned from his post to pave way for the next ruling panch to occupy the post.
In the nine-member Gaondongrim Village Panchayat, Rajendra Velip was elected by a group of five panchas to occupy the coveted post after the panchayat election in May 2007.
It is reportedly learnt that understandings were reached to rotate the post of sarpanch among certain panchas during the current term.
Sources informed that Panch Vasant Gaonkar is likely to be elected Gaondongrim sarpanch by next week. At present, the affairs of Gaondongrim village are being administered by Deputy Sarpanch Nalini Velip.
