PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has decided to seek public views on whether to allow Class IX and XI candidates, identified under need improvement category, to appear for the upcoming Board examination as ‘private candidates’, as one-time measure.
The GBSHSE during its annual general Board meeting held on September 18, decided to seek the opinion of stakeholders and public, whether to allow need improvement candidates of Class IX and Class XI of the Academic Year 2020-21, to appear as private candidates in the ensuing examination 2021-22 for Class X and Class XII respectively.
“This could be a onetime measure for the students in view of COVID-19 pandemic situation,” Board Secretary Geraldina Mendes said.
The Board has constituted a committee to decide on the matter. All the suggestions received would be placed before the committee for final recommendation.
