We understand that the CM is on the back foot for the manner in which unpopular and anti-people decisions are being taken. However, looking at a communal motive for these criticisms means that this government is unwilling to handle and accept genuine fact based criticism. Moreover, while parties and politicians can be communal, a government should not be. Therefore the criticism against the government is definitely not against any community but against its poor governance. Thus the attack on the government is factual, not communal.
In fact, elements who the ruling party and government are supporting, like BBSM, on the MoI issue, have made far more communally provocative comments than forces who have criticized the functioning of the government.
Instead of asking MLAs to give suggestions on how to maintain communal peace, the CM should have asked the people of Goa why his government is losing its brand equity.
