PERNEM: Arthur Schist, a 74-year-old German, died after drowning off Mandrem beach on Thursday.
According to Pernem police, the incident took place at around 6 pm on Thursday when a Lifeguard on duty spotted a body floating in water. The victim drowned when he ventured into the sea for a swim.
Immediately, Lifeguard launched Jetski and bought the body ashore and shifted to Community Health Centre at Tuem where the doctor on duty declared him bought dead.
Pernem police have registered a case of unnatural death. PSI Aditya Naik Goankar is investigating.
