GFG rejects ‘late night swim’ theory

Accuses Crime Branch of trying to bury Fr Bismarque case

MARGAO: Goans for Goa (GFG) has questioned the Crime Branch as to what other evidence existed to prove that Fr Bismarque Dias went for a late-night swim, apart from the story given by the two boys last seen with him. While claiming that the CB was trying to bury the case, GFG stated that the autopsy report claimed Bismarque’s death was due to drowning, but it did not mean the same was an accident, and foul play could not be ruled out.
“There is ample evidence that suggests foul play and that Fr Bismarque could have drowned while in a semi-conscious state. Prima facie evidence points out that Fr Bismarque never went for a swim that night, and proves that the story of swimming and drinking is a lie to support the ‘accidental death’ theory to protect the actual murderers,” said GFG.
GFG has also laid out a few points for the Crime Branch to consider.
“First, if Fr Bismarque had indeed gone to swim, then his vest would have been found with his other clothes, when collected by Fr Dominic in the morning. However, it was missing from the hut and was found only on November 17 with some stains on it, which the Crime Branch has still not proved what they are. When the two boys were the only people at Babaal Mannos at that time, where did the vest disappear from the hut? This is the million dollar question that needs an answer. It suggests that Fr Bismarque never removed his vest and was wearing it when he was rendered in a semi-conscious state at Babal Mannos,” said GFG, adding that it was vital to determine through a DNA profiling, if the vest found was the one worn by Fr Bismarque.
“If this fact is proved, then the boys have a lot to answer, as they have witnessed who killed Fr Bismarque. GFG also suspects that a different vest was sent to Hyderabad for DNA profiling, and this fact needs to be proved by doing an independent DNA profiling on the vest,” said GFG.
GFG also claimed that the story about Fr Bismarque drinking beer had been concocted, and the same was proved through medical reports, which stated that hardly any alcohol was found in his body.
“The two boys had stated that they drank five bottles each and Fr Bismarque drank only one bottle at Uddear. According to Parmeshwar, Joyson drank one bottle of beer when they went to inform one of them that his mother was searching for him at Uddear. So far, this story sounds plausible, as per the traces of alcohol found in his body. This proves that the second carton of beer was not touched by Fr Bismarque, and it was just planted at the scene to make it look like a drinking and drowning story,” said GFG.
They added, “How could two minor boys finish 10 beer bottles each, from 8 pm to 2 am in the night and still be standing is a mystery, which further suggests that Fr Bismarque never went to swim that night after having drinks.”
