DSYA workers demand permanent jobs

CANACONA: Nearly 80 workers under the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Employees’ Union, which is affiliated to the Goa Trade Unions Confederation, met Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar at residence in Chaudi, Canacona on Monday and requested him to regularize their services in the DSYA.

CANACONA: Nearly 80 workers under the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Employees’ Union, which is affiliated to the Goa Trade Unions Confederation, met Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar at residence in Chaudi, Canacona on Monday and requested him to regularize their services in the DSYA.
Gitesh Jhalmi, general secretary of the union, said that the services of around 145 workers from various sections of the DYSA were terminated in the last 17 months under the pretext of a 15-day break, and their services were not regularized despite promises given by BJP leaders during agitations.
