PANJIM: Green Goa Foundation (GGF) has alleged that the new Civil and Criminal Court which is under construction has been granted approval without proper parking space.
GGF demanded that construction of the building be stopped and FIR be registered against SGPDA and MMC for granting technical approval and construction licence. “Failing this GGF will move the High Court for directions,” GGF chairman Raison Almeida said.
GGF says that SGPDA has granted approval for the building with just 18 parking spaces. “Similarly the MMC building has also granted construction licence with only 18 car parking slots,” it says, adding that the building rules requires space for 75 cars for the under construction Court.
GGF claims that the area currently has enough traffic chaos in the campus of the district and sessions court and points out that the new building is just 10 meters away from old market Margao circle which faces a lot of congestion.
