CALANGUTE: In a midnight raid conducted in rented premises at Orda, Candolim, Calangute Police arrested one Priscilla Adjetey (37), a Ghana national for illegally possessing narcotic drugs.
According to Calangute Police Station Police Inspector Laxi Amonkar, credible information was received from sources that one foreigner lady is involved in drugs trade and residing in a house at Orda, Candolim and on Sunday midnight the said lady is likely to leave the place to dispose of the contraband.
Accordingly, a team headed by PI Amonkar and consisting PSI Rajaram Bagkar, Lady Police Sub-Inspector Pragati Malik, Head Constables Vidhya Amonkar, Bhagwan Palyekar, Ganpat Tilogi, Francis Fernandes, Amir Garad, Akash Naik, Mahendra Chari and Driver Sunil Mhalshekar, conducted a raid in presence of panchas during which the accused was found in illegal possession of narcotic substance suspected to be Heroin weighing 33 grams, Cocaine weighing 35 grams, Charas weighing 34 grams and Ecstacy weighing eight grams and cash of Rs 4,32,800. All contraband including cash is worth Rs 12,12,800 approximately.
The accused woman is remanded to police custody and an offence is registered under NDPS Act 1985.
PI Amonkar is further investigating the case.
