GHRC Orders Removal of Non-Compliant Speed Breakers on Goa Road, Seeks Compliance by November 2026

The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) has directed the removal of several non-compliant speed breakers on a major district road, stressing the need to improve road safety and ensure adherence to prescribed standards.

In its order, the Commission recommended that the existing speed breakers be replaced with standard hot-mix speed breakers and instructed that the work be completed by the end of November 2026.

The GHRC has also directed the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) to submit an action-taken report detailing the progress of the work.

The matter has been posted for the next hearing on December 3, 2026, during which the Commission will review compliance with its directions.

The order is aimed at ensuring safer road infrastructure and addressing concerns over improperly constructed speed breakers that may pose risks to motorists and other road users.
