PANJIM: A teenage girl plunged to her death from the Curca bridge early Tuesday morning for reasons not ascertained yet.
Police said the 15-year-old left behind a suicide note that reads: “I am sorry mummy papa. Good bye.”
Agassaim police inspector Shivram Vaigankar said a case of unnatural death has been registered and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
Earlier, he said, the parents found their daughter missing from home and began searching for her only to find her sandals on the bridge. Her body was fished out at about 5 am.
“The family usually wakes up early. When the parents realized their daughter was missing, they started searching for her and found her sandals on the bridge. The police was informed about the missing teenager… her body was located in the rivulet and brought to the shore at about 5 am,” he said.
According to the police, the teenager was repeating her class IX this year. Vaigainkar said the family and the police do not suspect foul play.
