A day after 8 MLAs of the Congress merged their party with the ruling BJP, Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar accepted the merger of the CLP into the BJP. Tawadkar was in the national capital when the development took place on Wednesday. The Goa Legislature notified the merger of two-thirds MLAs of Congress with the BJP.
Michael Lobo, Digambar Kamat, Aleixo Sequeira, Sankalp Amonkar, Delilah Lobo, Kedar Naik, Rajesh Phaldesai and Rudolfo Fernandes merged into the BJP on Wednesday. Seats will be allotted to these members as members of the BJP in the House.
