PONDA: The road between Goa and Belgaum via Anmod was closed on Friday for vehicular traffic as Karnataka government began road widening work.
Following this, the vehicular traffic has been diverted towards from Chorla Ghat, Sanquelim-Keri route and also from Karwar to Goa route.
The decision was taken in second week of December to close the Anmod road for widening work. However, considering tourist flow in December-January during Christmas and New Year celebrations, and also on demand from Belgaum locals, businessman and Goa government, the road widening work was postpone and traffic was allowed on this route till January 10.
