Cyber Crime Police have arrested a 30-year-old Maharashtra man for posing as an ED officer and duping a Canacona resident of 2.8 crore through a ‘digital arrest’ scam. The accused used WhatsApp to claim the victim’s Aadhaar was linked to money laundering and forced him to transfer the amount through RTGS. Investigators later linked him to other cyber crimes across states involving 7.47 crore.
