Goa Resident Duped of ₹4.23 Cr in Trading Scam; Accused Nabbed from Kerala

Goa Cyber Crime Police have arrested a man from Kozhikode, Kerala, in connection with a massive ₹4.23 crore investment and trading fraud targeting a resident of Corlim, Tiswadi.

According to police, fraudsters posed as representatives of a trading platform called “Citadel Security” and convinced the victim to invest through a fake mobile application of the same name. The accused allegedly promised high returns from IPOs and stock market trades, inducing the complainant to transfer ₹4.23 crore.

Following a detailed technical and financial investigation, cyber police traced one of the suspects to Kerala. Investigators found that ₹27 lakh had been routed through the accused’s bank account before being transferred to other associates.

Police also discovered links between the account and two cyber fraud cases in Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh involving over ₹4.21 crore. The accused has been remanded to police custody, while further investigations are underway.
