Goa, Sindhudurg Police join forces for increased border vigilance ahead of Lok Sabha polls

PERNEM: Following the declaration of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, the Goa and Sindhudurg police have bolstered their vigilance efforts, collaborating to combat crime effectively. Senior officials from both states met at the Banda Police Station to strategise and ensure seamless operations during this critical period.

SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi stated that the meeting was held at his initiative on Friday, at Banda police station since it is centrally located.

SDPO Dalvi said, “A significant outcome of the meeting was the decision to exchange crucial information pertaining to proclaimed offenders, history-sheeters, on liquor, drug operations, and other relevant data between the two states. This exchange aims to streamline the process of tracking interstate criminals and enhance crime detection measures.”

Both police administrations have established checkpoints along the Goa-Sindhudurg border. A dedicated group will utilize social media platforms, including a newly formed WhatsApp group, to facilitate swift information sharing and coordinated responses to emerging situations.
