MARGAO: Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Subhash Shirodkar expressed confidence that the Goa government will win the legal battle regarding the diversion of Mhadei river at the Supreme Court.
Shirodkar was responding to queries from media persons regarding the tussle with Karnataka government that recently got an approval from the Central government for its detailed project report (DPR) for its plans to divert Mhadei river.
Shirdokar added that the State government has registered their objections against the diversion with the courts and central government and that it is coordinating with all departments concerned such as the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
He said the Attorney General of Goa (AG) has built a very strong case for the hearing that is coming up on February 12 or 13.
