Goans have decided to defeat BJP, says TMC MP

QUEPEM: Trinamool Congress MP Dr Shantanu Sen said Goans have preferred West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as their leader and have decided to defeat the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections.

“The preparations for the upcoming polls in the State are in full swing and the Trinamool Congress has sent its senior leaders to Goa to work out a strategy. Today, Soham Chakraborty visited Tilamol along with Rajendra Kakodkar,” Sen said and accused the BJP of running the government by buying MLAs.

“Goa is famous across the world as tourist destination, the State has not developed. The people have raised questions with regards to roads, electricity, education and several issues but the government has failed to answer. The people have lost their faith in the government,” Sen said.

“People have faith in Mamata Banerjee. If anyone is going to develop the State, it is the Trinamool Congress and to achieve this, people will be with us this time,” Sen said.

Noted actor from West Bengal, Soham Chakraborty said, “The Trinamool Congress will strengthen its hold in the State in the coming days and has started working in this direction.”

“Our party is working hard in the coming elections and in the next few days, many local leaders and people will join us and show the BJP government the door,” Chakraborty added.
