Goans ready for any challenge from outsiders’

MARGAO: South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar on Friday said that people of Goa are quite capable of meeting any challenge posed by people from outside the state.

Reacting to the controversy stoked by PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar and Ram Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik’s statements on bikinis and closure of pubs for women, the MP said Goans had in the past made known their thoughts, views and ideas on Goa and to protect its identity. “Anyone from outside may try to attack, but Goans will be every ready to face such elements”, he stated.
The South Goa MP was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the tree plantation program organised by the Gujarati Samaj Educational Trust at Aquem-Margao on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawaikar underlined the need to grow trees to save and protect the environment. He also promised all support to the Gujarati school for the special children.
