NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Wednesday decided biennial election to the Rajya Sabha for a lone seat from Goa on July 21.
Noting that the term of Congress MP Shantaram Naik is due to expire on July 28, the Commission announced the schedule in which nominations will be accepted from July 4 to 11, scrutiny on July 12 and last date for withdrawal being July 14 to have polling and counting on July 21. An EC spokesman said the nominations will be accepted on all eight days.
as none of the days is a public holiday for the purpose.
