PANJIM: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Vinay Tendulkar on Wednesday confidently said the party has full faith in its alliance partners Goa Forward, Maharashrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and independents.
Addressing the media, Tendulkar said, “BJP has full faith in MGP, Goa Forward and independents that they will not betray us. I also have full faith that the government will complete its five year tenure.”
He added, “Dhavalikar and Vijai Sardesai have repeatedly said that they are with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and that this government will complete five years and further they will never stab him in the back.”
Speaking on BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate, Tendulkar said the alliance partners and independents will be taken into confidence before finalising the candidate.
BJP Spokesperson and MLA Nilesh Cabral said Shah will be on a two-day visit to Goa from July 1 to discuss the party’s organisational issues.
“Amit Shah will arrive to discuss the party’s organisational matters. He would be interacting with the party workers and MLAs during his visit. He will be welcomed at the airport by the CM, MLAs, councillors and elected panch member after which he will visit Azad Maidan to pay homage.” Cabral said Shah will also meet the panch members and zilla parishad members.
“Shah will holding a meeting with professionals who are doctors, advocates and businessman after which he will also meet the BJP state office bearers, while on the second day a meeting will be held to discuss the strategies for the 2019 elections after which he will depart to South Goa to inaugurate the BJP office,” Cabral said.

‘No anxiety among Goans on beef issue’
BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar on Wednesday said there is no anxiety among Goans on the beef issue.
Asked whether the beef issue will be discussed during Shah’s visit, Tendulkar said, “Amit Shah is coming to Goa to discuss and strengthen the organisation ahead of the 2019 elections and we feel there is no anxiety among Goans on the issue of beef.”
