According to Verna police, the incident came to light after HCC President Mario Pereira noticed that the latch of the chapel’s main door was damaged.
When he entered the chapel, he found that the crown was missing.
He complained to Verna police, who conducted a panchanama and registered an offence under section 379 of IPC against the unknown accused.
Further investigations are ongoing.
