Gold worth Rs 1.60 lakh stolen in Ponda

Gold ornaments worth Rs 1.60 lakh were reported stolen in separate incidents in Ponda on Monday.
According to Ponda Police, gold ornaments worth Rs 80,000 were stolen from the house belonging to Naresh Naik of Tisk-Ponda.
In his complaint, the complainant told Ponda Police that he had locked the door at about 9 am and as usual went to his shop at Ponda. However, when he returned home at about 3 pm, he found the door lock detached and a cupboard inside the house broke open by unknown persons. ASI G D Nalkar is investigating the case.
In another similar case, burglars decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 80,000 from a house at Parpati Wada, Bandora.
In her complaint, Sangeeta Naik stated that she had locked the house before attending a haldi-kumkum programme at a nearby house. She further stated she left the house at about 2.30 pm and when she returned at 3 pm, the lock of the front door was broke open and gold ornaments worth Rs 80,000 missing from the cupboard.
