PANJIM: R Mukundan, Chairman CII WR along with Atul Pai Kane, Chairman Goa State Council and Kirit Maganlal, Vice Chairman Goa State Council, Kaushlendra Sinha Regional Director CII Western Region and Geetika Goyal State Head CII Goa called on Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo and apprised him of work being done in partnership with State governments of western region. Mukundan explained the initiation of ‘Panjim Connect’ to include people in governance process while Kane briefed on the details of Panjim Connect and making Panjim pedestrian-friendly, creating awareness on parking and clean and safe surroundings.
Maganlal briefed about the activities of tourism panel where CII is looking to train staff involved in tourist activities.
Governor said that the image of Goa is in reverse and a proper image building is required. He said there should be improvement in tourism services including better rail connectivity.
The team also called on the Chief Minister and Mukundan briefed on the CII National Council meeting and retreat to be held in Goa in November. Mukundan and Kane briefed on the CII agriculture panel and assured assistance in improving agriculture in State. CM said that main focus is on dairy and animal husbandry along with farming and emphasized on the employment skills in agriculture. Mukundan shared Tata’s Aligarh model where students are taught on farming techniques.
