In view of the exhibition of the holy relics of St. Francis Xavier at Old Goa, the state government has allocated `71.50 crore for road construction, water supply, sewage, and building improvements in preparation from 21st November 2024 to 05th January 2025. To begin the exposition works, the government has already formed a task team led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
According to reports, the government has undertaken 17 road repair projects valued at `55.70 crore, 18 building-related projects costing `10 crore, a `5 crore water supply project, and `80 lakh in sewage-related work.

Road-related tasks include clearing bushes along Rajbid Road from Sharda Mandir School to Batim to improve road connectivity during the event, removing debris from the side of the road, pruning trees and creating parking areas near Pinto garage, south-east parking near Ella Farm, and connecting road work near Old Goa.
The construction of internal roads and parking spaces on the Bhakia property, the renovation of the roadways around Bom Jesus Basilica and Se Cathedral, and the enhancement of the walkways and roads within the cathedral’s and basilica’s grounds are among the additional projects.
The other major works include the development of an additional parking area with access roads within the Ella village church property, improvement and hot mixing of other roads, reopening of the road from the Agassaim church to the Dixit Bhat junction, and the renovation of the roads from Ribandar junction to Shri Vithal Mandir. The building projects includes one unit restroom block for men and women, an administrative/secretariat block, watchtowers, pavilions, and kiosks, sixty pilgrimage barracks, and temporary outposts for law enforcement and firefighters.
