PANJIM: The State government on Friday extended Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) for private pharmaceutical manufacturing company employees for another six months. The order will come into effect from April 10, 2024.
”In exercise of the powers conferred by sus-section (3) of the Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act 1998( Goa Act no 20 of 1989), Government of Goa being satisfied that in the public interest it is necessary so to do, hereby extends the period prohibiting strike in any form, in all establishments engaged in manufacturing, packaging, distribution and transportation of pharmaceutical products and components thereof in pharmaceutical sector in the State of Goa mentioned in the above order for further period of six months with effect from April 10, 2024,” a government order said.
