PANJIM: Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik has expressed happiness on the selection of former Defence Minister of India and former Chief Minister of Goa Late Manohar Parrikar for Padma Bhushan Award.
In his message, the Governor said, “I am extremely pleased to learn that our beloved and revered Former Defence Minister of India and Former Chief Minister of Goa, Late Manohar Parrikar ji has been conferred the Padma Bhushan Award (Public Affairs), posthumously for the great and extraordinary services rendered by him to the Nation and Society, and more particularly to the State of Goa.”
He further said that Parrikar worked tirelessly for the people of Goa until his last breath and will always be remembered for the invaluable contributions made by him for the State of Goa and Goans.
“I would like to convey my good wishes and blessings to his two sons Utpal Parrikar and Abhijat Parrikar and entire Parrikar family on this very important day. The Padma Bhushan Award to Manohar Parrikar, the great soul and tall political leader is an honour for entire Goa,” he concluded.
