PANJIM: The Institution of Goa Lokayukta has requested Goa Governor Dr Mrs Mridula Sinha to order a probe through Central agencies like CBI into the alleged scam linked to awarding tender of Cyberage Student Scheme.
A special report to Governor and Chief Secretary by Lokayukta P K Misra has recommended the probe regarding the awarding of contract for 47,000 tabs by Education Department under Cyberage Scheme in 2013 as well as pre and post 2013 contract.
Lokayukta, in its inquiry findings which is based on a complaint filed by Ashish Kamat, has also expressed displeasure on the lethargy of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in probing the matter as it also came down heavily on the government for its reluctance to act on the alleged scam. It has charged the government of fearing that old skeletons will tumble out of cupboards if action was taken.
